The Symphony Optiblue is the latest generation of presbyopia correcting intraocular lenses from Johnson & Johnson. The lens is in a class of intraaocular lenses that extend the depth of focus allowing for improved intermediate and near vision while retaining excellent distance vision. The new lens offers improved contrast sensitivity in low light environments. The Violet-Light Filter blocks the shortest wavelengths of light that produce the most light scatter, helping to mitigate halo, glare, and starbursts, and minimize visual disturbances when driving at night. The lens usually gives excellent distance and intermediate range vision. Near vision is also improved but readers are usually required for small print.
